1. Introduction

UtilNation is a daily utilities dashboard providing tools including weather, currency conversion, translation, world clocks, holidays, and quick-access links. The service is operated by Tropic Stack LLC, a company incorporated in the State of New Mexico, United States.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

Analytics data (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage information, including: anonymized IP address, pages visited, time on site, country of access, device type, and browser type. This information cannot be used to identify any individual user.

Data sent to third-party APIs. To provide dashboard functionality, certain requests are sent to external services:

• Open-Meteo: receives geographic coordinates to fetch weather data. No personal information is transmitted.
• MyMemory: receives the text entered by the user for translation. No personal identity is stored.
• ExchangeRate-API: currency rate queries only. No user data is sent.
• Nager.Date: holiday data queries only. No user data is sent.

Local storage. Certain preferences are saved directly in your browser and never leave your device:

• utilnation_theme — light/dark mode preference
• utilnation_exchange_cache — exchange rate cache (10 min TTL)
• utilnation_weather_city — selected weather city
• utilnation_clocks — custom world clock cities

What we do NOT collect: we have no user accounts, no contact forms, no proprietary cookies, no personally identifiable information, and no database of user data.

3. How We Use Information

• Analytics: to understand usage patterns and improve the service, not to identify individual users.
• Third-party APIs: solely to provide the requested functionality (weather, translation, exchange rates, holidays).
• localStorage: to remember your preferences between sessions (city, theme, currencies).

UtilNation relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

5. Cookies

UtilNation does not use proprietary cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser for analytics purposes. These cookies are managed exclusively by Google.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the official browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6. Local Storage

UtilNation stores preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data resides solely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

You can delete this data at any time from your browser settings: Settings → Privacy → Clear site data.

7. Data Retention

Tropic Stack LLC does not store personal data on its servers. localStorage data persists until you clear it from your browser. Data collected by Google Analytics is retained according to Google's standard data retention policies.

8. Children's Privacy

UtilNation is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
